It seems like Nigeria has lost a real football legend because of the financial crisis. The man who was behind the Nigeria’s football team, who won the bronze medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics, Samson Siasia, has recently declared to quit the football coaching in Nigeria. When asked about the reason, he simply indicated that the system is extremely disrespectful that he can’t be the part of it anymore.
Siasia has recently revealed that he has gone unpaid for a five month period by his managers, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and now he is done with the system and its financial crisis. He says he has finally taken the decision of quit coaching in Nigeria after ‘a chaotic and inconceivable crusade in Brazil’.
Samson Siasia told the media that, ‘I am at that point of my life, where I must say that I have had enough of everything. I’ve gone a while without getting paid, years of being ridiculed and disregarded by the sports officials in Nigeria however I am done as of now.
